EHHA board meeting, November 27, 2006 The Board met on Monday, November 27 at 7:15 pm. Attending members: Sallie Martin, Carolyn Chaney, Carole Henley, Steve Hill, Milo Medin, Cher McGovern. Absent, Lee Lukehart, Steve Harper. Guest: Tanya Capuano Minutes of the September meeting were approved. Public Works committee: Cher McGovern and Steve Hill met with Redwood City Water department earlier this month to begin discussions on the feasibility of Redwood City taking over the sewer system in Emerald Hills. The benefit being the reduction of rates for the zones that Redwood City serves. They will also meet with San Carlos sewer department representatives to explore ways to reduce the charges for the zone they serve. Mail was distributed to the various committees. Guest Tanya Capuano, resident on Cordilleras, presented her idea of a forum on the schools that serve our community, Clifford, Roy Cloud, North Star and Adelant. She is proposing that a representative of each Parents Club share information about each school. Tanya would like EHHA support and help with publicity‹such as an article in the January newsletter. Tanya has contacted the various parents clubs and there is strong interest in participating. Tanya would take care of producing fliers, arranging location and getting a representative of the Redwood City School District to attend the meeting as well. The Board agreed to support this effort and include an article about the upcoming forum in the January newsletter. Zoning: The Board of Supervisors voted to temporarily assign the DRC function to Planning staff person, Farhad Mortazahi. He will review and make decisions on projects that need to have DRC approval. Community representative Nancy Mangini, alternate, Sallie Martin and architects John Day and Peter Baltay are being relieved of their positions. John Day and Peter Baltay are still the architects for Palomar Park. The supervisors are seeking applicants for the open positions. Interested persons should contact Rich Gordon or his aide, Jeremy Dennis. The supervisors hope to fill these positions early spring, 2007. Next meeting to be Jan 9, 10 or 11th. Please let Sallie know if you have conflicts for any of those dates.
