EHHA Board meeting, Tuesday Sept 26, 2006 Submitted by Carole Henley for Cher McGovern (absent) EHHA Board meeting was held on Tuesday Sept. 26, 2006 at the home of Milo Medin. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by President Sallie Martin. Members present: Sallie Martin, Lee Lukehart, Steve Hill, Milo Medin, Carole Henley, and Amy French. Those absent were: Steve Harper, Carolyn Chaney. Cher McGovern. Residents attending: Mike Mangini, John Raleigh, Frank Fraone, Linda Brouchard, Barbara McGowan and husband Robert Bromell. The minutes from the last meeting were approved. Lee reported that the checking balance was similar to last monthıs balance (he will provide updated treasurerıs report at next meeting). Guest: Bill Korbolz presented information about County Measure A that will be on the November ballot. This measure is to provide funding for the county parks by raising the county sales tax by 1/8 cent for 25 years. He was asking for our endorsement. The board requested additional information from Bill before taking a vote to endorse. The vote will be done by email within 7 days of this meeting. Mail: County: Subdivision on Paradise was approved. Path-Ferndale, received information sheet on a request by owner to move designated ³path² from one side of lot to other side. Committee reports: Public Works: Sewer issues; Steve Hill reported that he, Cher McGovern and Doug Finlay have a meeting with Neil Cullen on Nov 6 re sewer issues. They will also explore the possibilities of our areas to be included directly in San Carlos or Redwood City sewer districts, with the desired outcome being reduced rates that are similar to those for residents in those cities. Zoning: Carole Henley reported that EHHA had informed the County (Lisa Grote) that we were with drawing our zoning proposals. This information was included in our September newsletter that went to EHHA residents via newsletter and email (9-26-06). Sallie reported that the next DRC meeting is October 4,2006; no changes yet in DRC members. Code Enforcement: The County has asked Emerald Hills residents to report if codes, regulations are not being enforced. They would like specific incidents. Discussion re to put this on the Forum. Incidents should be reported to Lisa Grote at the county. Social: Fire station on Wilmington Way will open on Nov. 1. Discussion if to coordinate some type of social event. More research needed. Oral Communication: Speakers: John Raleigh; professional engineer and builder. Wants a quicker process for professionals such as himself. Wants fewer restrictions on house type, etc that are covered by DRC. Says building in San Mateo County takes a long time and is expensive. Linda Brouchard: occupation is accounting analyst(?). Made good observations that issues that residents are concerned about should be sorted into categories to get a clearer picture and make it easier to suggest solutions. Also commented that Linda Grote said the County would respond to questions and letters from the May meeting at Clifford school, but this hasnıt been done yet. Mike Mangini: spokesman for the coalition? (He gave an unclear answer). Wants a community wide survey of community concerns. He suggests this be done by the County or an outside service to provide neutrality. Barbara McGowan and Linda Bromell: Related that their project took a long time to go through DRC and that after it was approved a neighbor appealed the decision which held them up for over 1 year. Also said their coalition signs were Œeggedı and someone had run over a sign on their property. Frank Fraone: I donıt have notes on his comments‹can anyone help. Meeting was adjourned at 10 p.m.
