Board Meeting June 9, 2006 Milo's house Attendees: Sally Martin, Milo Medin, Amy French, Carolyn Chaney, Steve Hill, Cheryl McGovern Agenda - Open to discussion/feedback on May 31 community meeting on proposed zoning and design review regulations Lisa was overwhelmed and that was disappointing because she didn't stick to her agenda. The personal attack and hostility was surprising. It would have worked better if the meeting was facilitated. The audience was dominated by vocal developers and real estate brokers with a reactionary "no government" group of people who had been hurt by EHHA, County, and/or DRC. The history of the name and organization was discussed. It was suggested that the name might be changed to Resident Association to reflect the fact that the group is not on property deeds. Amy confirmed that she wants to continue to be a member despite the conflict. Sally updated everyone on the latest communications over the controversial new proposal and possible options on next steps, including the latest DRC meeting. If Nancy is asked to resign, the participation of the EHHA in DRC composition may need to change. Criteria for future candidates was mentioned particularly community values. We discussed how to move forward given community concerns and process including to move forward on just zoning proposal, items that received strong vote, etc. The group talked about the process of listening to opposing interest as recently organized into a coalition. We agreed to assign 3-4 EHHA board members to a subcommittee to meet with the 3-4 coalition members and one of the EHHA members would be the president and one would be a new member. Milo and Steve Hill agreed to serve and Lee was mentioned as a good candidate. We agreed the coalition campaign strategy goal was to grab power and influence the community against the proposal. Sally and Carolyn will meet with the County to learn how they view our voting process before we decide how to move forward. Comments and changes to the draft newsletter are due to Carolyn by Sunday, 6/11. recorded by Cher McGovern
